Abby Elliott and Bill Kennedy got married on Saturday, September 3rd, in eastern Connecticut, and Martha Stewart Weddings was there! The Odd Mom Out star and House of Cards writer’s elegant celebration started with a Catholic ceremony in front of just under 200 guests. Next came cocktails and dinner nearby at the bride’s parents’ gothic-style house. The New England fête-which had a subtle nod to the holiday weekend with a color palette of reds, blues, and cream came together with help from the locals-as in most of the creative team hailed from the area. The Best Celebrity Engagement Rings The couple layered in meaningful touches from family members too. It began with the ring-which had belonged to Bill’s grandmother. Her grandfather’s etching graced some of the paper goods. His watch and cufflinks belonged to his great grandfather. Her uncle calligraphed the menus and table numbers. The cake knife dates back to his great grandparents. And her sister performed at the reception, which of course, took place at home. Other Celebrities Who Got Married at Home! The bride was a picture of elegance in her lace and tulle Leanne Marshall gown and loose bouquet. The groom sported a custom blue linen suit by Italian tailor Duca Sartoria. Flowers abounded, with illustrations printed on the stationery, fresh blooms overflowing in organic arrangements, and sugar ones adorning the multi-tier cake. Fitting, considering Bill proposed in their New York City apartment, surrounded by dozens of flowers and candles.
