Vera Wang needs no introduction when it comes to bridal fashion. The designer has been in the industry for over 25 years, and knows how to make brides and grooms look and feel their best on their big days. Her most recent wedding style undertaking is the BLACK by Vera Wang Slim Fit Tuxedo available exclusively at Men’s Wearhouse-a versatile suit that any man can wear down the aisle and beyond. While people think that a groom’s attire might not be as important as the bride’s, Vera believes that grooms should feel confident in what they wear, too. We chatted with the designer about finding the perfect suit, making it their own, and her inspiration behind it all (it may surprise you!). A more traditional or sentimental groom could add personal touches through monogramming the cuff of his sleeve, or the use of a family heirloom, like cuff links, in his tuxedo styling. A fashion forward groom could add character and charm to his tuxedo style with a bold shoe or tie choice. Above all, a groom’s wedding day look should make him feel comfortable and confident.” There are such things as a fashion “don’t” for grooms. “There are many factors to consider when determining how the groom will dress for his wedding: location, level of formality, time of day, time of year, any cultural or religious requirements. Each Bond has brought his own flair to the classic James Bond tuxedo, but perhaps the chicest to me is the classic: Sean Connery in a white dinner jacket.” Don’t get too caught up with trends. “It’s easy to add decoration to a tuxedo with simple and classic details. To be yourself as your very best; to be confident, comfortable and easy about who you are and how you live. And to embrace that fully.”
