During a recent outing, Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a rare moment of PDA: The Duchess of Cambridge gave her husband, who participated in a fundraising polo match in Windsor (where the royal pair is planning to move), a sweet kiss on the cheek. After winning the game alongside his teammates—together, they raised over $1 million for several charities—the future king was all smiles, especially when Kate gave him that congratulatory peck, People reports.

The couple was later seen hugging and leaving the field with their arms wrapped around each other. Kate donned a long white dress and chic sunglasses at the match; her husband wore traditional polo attire—sporting the number four on his uniform.

Myka Meier, a royal etiquette expert and the founder and director of Beaumont Etiquette, previously told People that the royal family doesn’t have to abide by any specific rules when it comes to showing public displays of affection. In fact, any of the royal couples can show love in public settings however they choose.

“Senior members of the royal family would likely not be told how to interact or when they can or can not show PDA and would be trusted to use their better judgment as to when it’s appropriate,” Meier said. “The royals often adjust PDA to mirror the formality of the event they are attending. At a somber or more formal event, we are less likely to see PDA than at a casual event where it would be deemed more fitting.”
