It’s been a busy summer for both Prince William and Kate Middleton. Not only have they been planning their move out of Kensington Palace, but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also been looking into new schools for their three little ones, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. In fact, the process of finding the best schools for their children is actually the reason behind their move altogether, E News! reports.
It was previously reported by Us Weekly that the couple decided to leave their current home to be closer to Queen Elizabeth—and that they wanted to experience life outside the bustle of London (while still living fairly close to the city). “The whole family [is] extremely excited to be moving to Windsor, not just because it will bring them closer to [Queen Elizabeth II] but it’s a perfect happy medium that brings them closer to London than if they chose to settle full time in Berkshire or Amner Hall,” a source close to the couple told the outlet.
While the above reasons are likely still true, Prince William and Kate’s kids were the catapulting force behind their decision, new insiders report. The couple officially decided to enroll their children at Lambrook School in Berkshire, and the kids start next month. “We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September,” said Jonathan Perry, the private school’s principal.
Perry added that they “very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community.” Luckily for the couple, their new home is nearby: They will be living in Adelaide Cottage, which is also on the Queen’s Windsor estate.
